2004 Donruss Timeless Treasures Lou Gehrig (Home Away Gamers-Signature Prime) #HA-19 BAS Autograph Authentic - #'d 1/1! In 1999, after the two million fan ballots were calculated to determine the Major League Baseball All-Century Team, it was Lou Gehrig who took top honors. He claimed 1,207,992 votes to Babe Ruth's second-place, 1,158,044. With Ruth's career stats and personality skewing towards garish, Gehrig may have spend the bulk of his career in the shadow of the sport's most celebrated figure. However, this electoral victory, over 75 years after he first donned the iconic pinstripes, should be considered neither unexpected nor unmerited. The autograph presents very well and one of the jersey primes looks to be the last "g" from the "Gehrig" nametag stitched in the back collar of the jersey, while the other is a two-color patch, along with a piece of bat used by Gehrig.
