Description
1933 Goudey Babe Ruth #181 PSA Fair 1.5. New York Yankees Hall of Famer Babe Ruth was the original straw who stirred the drink in The Bronx, New York. Following six seasons with the Boston Red Sox, where he both pitched and hit, Ruth was traded to the Bronx Bombers just in time to start the 1920 MLB season. Once he landed in New York, he never looked back. After hitting a total of 49 home runs for the Bosox, Ruth completely dominated the game in New York. His lifetime statistics speak for themselves: .342 batting average, 714 home runs and 2,214 runs batted in. He defined power at the plate and was aptly nicknamed the "Sultan of Swat."Offered is an example of card #181 from the historic 1933 Goudey series which shows the iconic Yankees slugger peering around behind him with his bat in hand. One of four different cards featuring Ruth in the set, #181 is the fourth and final one. This card is always on collectors' want lists and this offering should appeal to anyone looking to complete a Ruth master set or even enhance a stunning vintage card collection. Graded PSA Fair 1.5.
