Terrific showpiece designed exclusively for the ultimate Monster of the Midway!
2000's Dick Butkus Chicago Bears Alumni Ring. Though the
Hall of Fame linebacker's career happened to coincide with a
particularly challenging era in Chicago Bears history, no player in
the league rattled the nerves and bones of opposing ball carriers
like Butkus, who was dubbed "The Most Feared Man in the Game" on
the cover of the September 21, 1970 edition of Sports Illustrated
magazine. He joins the iconic Red Grange as the only two men to
have their jersey numbers retired by both the University of
Illinois and the Chicago Bears franchises.To this day, Dick Butkus remains one of the two greatest defensive players in the history of professional football (the other one is, of course, Lawrence Taylor) and easily one of the ten most important players to ever step foot on a gridiron. He appeared in eight Pro Bowls during his nine seasons of NFL service -- all with the Chicago Bears -- and was twice recognized as the NFL's Defensive Player of the Year.
Offered here is an absolutely precious 10 karat gold Bears alumni ring that was created by our consignor for Butkus in September of 2023. To everyone's dread and surprise, Butkus passed away less than a month later, which is why he never received the ring. Measuring to size 12.25, it features the Bears logo and "Butkus" on one of the sides, while a rendering of George Halas is on the other. CZs are scattered on the top, while "Terryberry 10 karat" is in the interior band. Ring weighs 32 grams, and it exhibits Mint condition inside a beautiful display box.
