1920 Pathe Freres Phonograph Babe Ruth Premium PSA Authentic - Rare Early Ruth Promotional!! Brooklyn based Pathe Freres Phonograph Co. honored the Yankees legend late in the 1920 season with these beautiful 7x9" black and white premium. Card issues of the 1919-29 era are colorful but feature cartoonish depictions and are small. What a sight this glorious portrait of a young man deserving of the nickname "Babe" who would one day have a better year than the President. A full report of all each home runs hit by Ruth up until September 13, 1920 is listed on the reverse, including opposing teams, pitchers, stadiums and men on base.Graded PSA Authentic-Altered. Pathe Freres offered customers for the then handsome sum of $1.00 ($15.00 in 2023 dollars) a Babe Ruth record and a "photographic print of his autographed photograph, free." Large premiums such as this were destined for handling and bedroom wall display but we find no pin holes. It does appear that tape at top/bottom center has been removed. This is one of just three graded by PSA.
