Photo matched to late season game in Buffalo!
1990 Dan Marino Game Worn Miami Dolphins Jersey, MEARS A10 - Photo Matched! With fire in his belly and ice water in his veins, Dan Marino rose from the fertile football grounds of western Pennsylvania to helm the Miami Dolphins through seventeen brilliant seasons, leaving the NFL record books painted with his name by the time of his 1999 retirement. From that historic 1983 draft class that included Jim Kelly and John Elway, it was Marino who came out on top in every statistic but for the elusive Super Bowl title, placing third in passing yards and passing touchdowns behind only Brett Favre and Peyton Manning. But when it comes to game-winning drives, Marino had no equal, his fifty-one a standing NFL record, the best evidence of his courage under fire. Four of those last-ditch heroics came the season he suited up in this spectacular white mesh gamer. While any Marino gamer is cause for celebration, this particular model distinguishes itself with several unique attributes, most notably the the lined pockets at the midsection installed to warm hands during visits to northern climes. Another rare point of interest is the Joe Robbie memorial armband affixed to right sleeve, with Marino's split-seam customization for greater mobility in his throwing motion. Finally, the upper left chest holds a Dolphins "Silver Season" patch commemorating a quarter century in southern Florida.
The rest of the jersey is the familiar aqua and orange on white format that gave nightmares to opposing defensive coordinators for the better part of two decades. Number "13" is screened to chest, back and shoulders, with "Marino" screened to rear nameplate in three-inch block. Team logo is screened to each sleeve. Lower left front tail holds proper "Wilson" manufacturer's labeling, with "48" and "BS" flap tags affixed at lower seam.
The experts at MEARS assess game use as "moderate," as to be expected for a quarterback famed for a quick release that places him second behind Peyton Manning for lowest number of sacks per one hundred pass attempts. An absolutely faultless representation, worthy of its 10/10 assessment, and photo matched to December 23 game at Buffalo, where Marino passed for 287 yards and two touchdowns. LOA from Resolution Photomatching. LOA from MEARS, A10. Letter of provenance from consignor. LOA from Heritage Auctions.
