Description
1911-14 D304 Brunners Bread Near Master Set (29/30) - #1 on SGC Set Registry! ATTENTION: As of 10:00pm Central time the complete set bid is $24,000 while the sum of the single card lots exceeds $26,500.Note: Bidding on this lot is a bid for the entire 29-card near master set.
To assemble a complete 25-card set is no small accomplishment. To add the four of the five "Traded" or "No Team" overprints is extraordinary as these variations were only available in 1914 or possibly 1913 for Frank Chance. Should one lucky collector acquire this complete set of 25 cards plus four "NO Team" overprints they would have the #1 registered set on the SGC Set Registry with a GPA of just under the "Excellent" level. Some highlights include - The stand alone highest SGC examples of Baker, Chase/Overprint, Evers, Marquard and Tenney (a scarce subject) plus the only recorded Otis Crandall with a "Butter Krust" reverse; Five others are one of only two, three or four graded example known. The set offers the following advertising backs: Brunners Bread (17 cards), General Baking (6 cards), Weber Bakery (3 cards), Marten's Bakery (2 cards) and Butter Krust (1 card). This would be a phenomenal addition to any vintage card collection.
