1992 Barcelona Olympic Games USA Basketball "Dream Team" Signed
Basketball from Lenny Wilkens. Not since Ruth and Gehrig
conquered the nation of Japan during their fabled tour of 1934 had
a foreign nation seen such dominance from an American team, and
most sports historians will instantly identify this one as the
greatest assembly of talent ever to share a basketball court. After
an entirely predictable march to the top of the Barcelona podium,
each member of the "Dream Team" returned to the States with a Gold
Medal and a specially-crafted souvenir basketball to commemorate
the cast of immortals of which they were a part.The result is stunning, both in the expertly applied artwork and the eighteen flawless silver sharpie signatures that coat the unpainted panels. The roster includes every Dream Team player: Charles Barkley, Larry Bird, Clyde Drexler, Patrick Ewing, Magic Johnson, Michael Jordan, Christian Laettner, Karl Malone, Chris Mullin, Scottie Pippen, David Robinson and John Stockton, as well as coaches Chuck Daly, Lenny Wilkens, P.J. Carlesimo and Mike Krzyzewski, and trainers Ed Lacerte and David Fischer.
This is the personal example issued to Lenny Wilkens, a man who earned Hall of Fame enshrinement three times--as an NBA player, as an NBA coach, and as a member of the 1992 Dream Team.
