Description

1973 PGA Championship Teacher Trophy Won by Sam Snead. At age sixty-one, the sport's greatest ambassador was a bit past his professional prime but still dominating his contemporaries on the Senior Tour. Three of Snead's seven Major Championships came at the PGA, and here we find the evidence of another victory, in the Senior division of the Grand Slam event. It was one of the most dominant performances of Snead's career, who posted a mind-blowing twenty-under-par in four rounds at the East Course at PGA National Golf Club. Julius Boros, who bettered his own winning total at the course two years earlier, finished fifteen shots back of Snead in second place.

The two-handled cup is engraved artfully with the specifics: "Teacher Trophy, The Professional Golfers' Association of America, Senior Championship, Presented by Ronald M. Teacher." Height is four inches, inclusive of removable wooden base, and diameter 8.5" inclusive of handles. Fine condition with only light handling wear to note. Letter of provenance from Jack Snead.
