1916 M101-5 Holmes-Homes Geo. Pierce #138 SGC 50 VG/EX 4. The 200-card series originating with Felix Mendelsohn served as the basis for numerous advertisers becoming a type collectors dream or nightmare. This auction features over twenty advertisers/lettering variants and is certainly one of if not the the most complete run ever presented in one auction. With a grand total of only 77 submissions (SGC and PSA combined), cards the "Holmes to Homes" Milk Made Bread advertising backs are among the more scarce brands. Offered is card #138 featuring George Pierce of the Chicago Cubs. Graded SGC 50 VG/EX 4, this is the highest graded example of only two cards of Pierce with this brand reverse!Auction Info
