1934 R309-1 Goudey Premiums Near Set (3/4). From the John Esch Collection. The R309-1 Goudey Premiums were offered by Goudey in exchange for fifty wrappers from their 1933 series with an as advertised expiration date of Nov. 1, 1933. These three teams and Babe Ruth (not present) complete the roster. With the 1st All-Star game on July 5 and the Giants taking championship status on October 7, 1933, there wasn't much time to accumulate those 50 wrappers. It must have been nice to get a little something extra for those 50 pennies. Our offered trio includes: American League All-Stars (easel intact, corner wear), National League All Stars (easel intact, corner wear, very small area of discoloration on front, adhesive tape residue on verso) and New York Giants "Worlds Champions 1933" (easel intact, corner wear, very small areas of image loss, adhesive tape residue and discoloration on verso).Auction Info
