Description

1985 O-Pee-Chee Mario Lemieux #9 PSA Gem Mint 10. "You don't replace players like Mario Lemieux... "The game will miss him," were words used by Wayne Gretzky himself to describe Mario Lemieux. "The most talented player I've ever seen," came from the mouth of Bobby Orr. The illustrious career of Mario Lemieux spanned almost two decades, all with the Pittsburgh Penguins. His debut came in 1984, a young phenom just nineteen years old. He finally retired in 2006 with the nick-name "The Magnificent One" and is unquestionably one of the greatest hockey players of all time.

His name is mentioned along with Howe, Hull, Orr, Morenz, Esposito and Gretzky. If the NHL had its own version of the Greek gods, he would reside in Olympus. His list of honors includes winning multiple Lester B. Pearson Awards, the Hart Trophy (three times), the Art Ross Trophy (six times), the Bill Masterton Memorial Trophy, the Conn Smythe Trophy and ten All-Star team appearances. Stanley Cup titles came in 1991 and 1992 with a third in 2006 with Mario as the team owner. It was that same year he took another youngster under his wing name Sidney Crosby. His talents were recognized with immediate induction into the Hockey Hall of Fame after he retired in 1997.

Graded PSA Gem Mint 10. His rookie card is one of the most coveted cards in the hobby. Our offered example is a flawless O-Pee-Chee stunner, one of forty-eight graded Gem Mint.
