Description
1988 Michael Jordan Signed Nike Air Revolution Prototype Sneakers with Ronald McDonald Charity House Auction Attribution. The first basketball show with a visible air unit, the Nike Air Revolution employed clean simple details which continue to make it a classic. In fact, the issue was so acclaimed that the Air Jordan III incorporated the Air Revolution midsoles into its design. What's more, the III's were initially slated to be named the Air Jordan Revolution.The presented high-top edition sports a white/royal blue/black/gray colorway and Velcro ankle fasteners. Interior tagging confirms the 1987 manufacturing date and 13.5 sizing (same as Mike's). Best of all, each shoe is signed in vintage faded black marker on the outer ankle collar.
Our consignor has stated that these shoes were originally obtained from a Ronald McDonald Charity House auction in the 1980's, but there is no paperwork to support this claim. However, the sizing and absence of the "Air Revolution logo on the tongues and font/color variation or the "Air" on the heels, suggests the possibility that these sneakers may have been a prototype, pre-production issue or product sample which was given to Jordan.
