Description

1937 Lou Gehrig Oversized News Photograph, PSA/DNA Type 1. Awesome action shot was snapped during a May 18, 1937 Chicago White Sox visit to the Bronx. That's Zeke Bonura diving back to evade Spud Chandler's pick-off throw to the mighty Iron Horse, who would homer in the four-to-nothing victory. We've never seen a Gehrig action shot period-printed to such large dimensions (10x12"). All details appear on a typed "Daily Mirror Staff Photo Caption Slip" on verso. Moderate wear at the edges include wrinkles, short tears and a paper clip impression, but this photo will still display very well when framed. Certainly a unique view of the Yankee great. LOA from PSA/DNA, Type 1.
