1954 Topps Ted Williams #1 PSA VG 3. Ted Williams was the Hall of Fame left fielder for the Boston Red Sox who wished that people walking by him on the street would utter this simple phrase: "There goes the greatest hitter who ever lived." A .344 lifetime hitter, Williams nearly was the greatest hitter in MLB history. Only Ty Cobb (.366), Rogers Hornsby (.359), Joe Jackson (.356), Ed Delahanty (.346) and Tris Speaker (.345) registered higher career batting averages than "Teddy Ballgame." Offered is a 1954 Topps card that captures Williams in two different images sporting his trusty bat. This example of card #1 from the '54 Topps set is found in Very Good condition.
