Circa 1976-78 Billy Kilmer Game Worn Washington Redskins Oversized Cold Weather Jersey. One of the biggest names in UCLA and Washington Redskins history, Billy Kilmer represented the first trade during the George Allen era. The backup to Hall of Famer Sonny Jurgensen, Kilmer was quickly slotted in as starter after Jurgensen suffered a severe shoulder injury on Sept 4.Presented here is a highly desirable maroon mesh Skins home jersey that Kilmer wore circa 1976-78 during cold wear games. Measuring to a size larger than typical for Kilmer, it is one of numerous cold wear examples that the defunct Mastro Auctions sold years ago, which were obtained from a team staffer. Showcasing sewn-on tackle twill identifiers on the front, back and sleeves, it has a "[size] XL Champion" tag in the tail. Heavy fraying is displayed on the identifiers, which is also typical of Redskins cold weather unis from this era. LOA from Heritage Auctions.
