1909-11 T206 Hindu-Brown Christy Mathewson (Portrait) SGC EX/NM+ 6.5 - Pop One, None Higher for Brand! From a new to the hobby collection. Offered is a 1909-11 T206 card featuring one of the most coveted T206 cards - the classic "Portrait" of baseball legend Christy Mathewson. If there was a baseball equivalent of the Greek gods, Christy Mathewson would have a seat on Olympus just as he has a hallowed spot in Cooperstown. Our offered card waited more than a century to make its debut and it was worth every minute of the wait.Graded SGC EX/NM+ 6.5. There are only eleven confirmed examples in an SGC holder, this is the highest graded example! The back displays a rarely encountered "Hindu Cigarettes" ad printed in Brown. The central portrait of Mathewson is perfectly centered within a bright white border proudly surrounding an illustration of beautifully saturated colors. Physically, there is such slight corner wear calling it "mild" is an exaggeration. A remarkable card destined to be the crowning touch to any size collection.
