Joe DiMaggio Wire Photo Collection. We offer a fantastic collection of wire photos from Yankee legend Joe DiMaggio. Two photos show Joe in Old Timer's games in Yankee pinstripes, a third shows him throwing out the first pitch in 1963. The final image, a type 2 wire photo shows Joe leaving the mortuary after making arrangements for Marilyn Monroe's funeral. DiMaggio's son, Joe Jr., had spoken to Monroe on the phone the night of her death, and had claimed she seemed fine. Her death was deemed a probable suicide but has been the subject of endless conspiracy theories. Devastated, he claimed her body and arranged her funeral, barring Hollywood's elite.
