1873 Boston Red Stockings (National Association) Season Pass - Championship Year! A forerunner to the National League, the National Association of Professional Base Ball Players was founded in 1871 and played until 1875 as baseball's first professional league. In 1876 the National League was formed. After the Philadelphia Athletics won the first National Association championship, the Boston Red Stockings proceeded to capture the final four, including the season that this pass was issued for. This "Complimentary Boston Base Ball Association" pass for "Season 1873" agreed to "Admit Mr. Cooper & Ladies to their Grounds." It is signed by club president Chas H. Porter. Exhibits acceptable wear to the front with glue stains/paper loss on the back from scrapbook removal.
