Buck O'Neil Hand Embellished Giclee Prints Lot Of 2. We offer a pair of 16" x 20" hand embellished (artist adds highlights to canvas) giclee prints each numbered 3 of an edition of 20. These paintings were commissioned by the Chicago Baseball Museum to commemorate Negro League legend Buck O'Neil's 100th birthday this February. The artwork was also used as DVD cover work for a new documentary about the life of Mr. O'Neil. Artist Grant Smith has signed each unframed print in the lower right. Buck was a first baseman and manager in the Negro leagues , most notably in the with the Kansas City Monarchs . After his playing days, he became the first African American coach in Major League Baseball , and also worked as a scout . In his later years he became a popular and renowned speaker and interview subject, helping to renew widespread interest in the Negro leagues, and played a major role in establishing the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum in Kansas City, Missouri .
