Description

1896 National League Silver Season Pass. From the famed collection of hobbyist extraordinaire Barry Halper comes this tremendously rare pass issued during a season that saw Ned Hanlon's Baltimore Colts cruise to the title by a nine-game margin over Cy Young's Cleveland Spiders. Elegant baseball imagery is ringed by raised lettering that reads, "National League and American Ass'n Circuit" on the obverse. Verso is personalized with the engraving, "Mr. Albert Riddle & Lady, Acct. Chicago, Compliments of James A. Hart." The perimeter reads, "Championship Souvenir of 1896, Entry to All Parks." The pass is in fine condition and remains housed in its original hinged leather and velvet case. Halper auction tag is still affixed. A highly desirable nineteenth century artifact celebrating the earliest days of the professional game.
