Description

1941 & 1942 Brooklyn Dodgers Yearbooks. Pair of tough yearbooks is made even tougher by little differences from the more commonly seen specimens. The earlier issue boldly proclaims on its cover "World Series Edition," bringing to mind Mickey Owen's dropped third strike that proved to be the nail in their Fall Classic coffin. The cover is hanging on by a thin strip of paper unfortunately, but the condition otherwise is very strong, with toning at the pages' edges the only other concern. The 1942 representation offers a much stronger condition, with no tearing or staining of note, and only very minor wear to the cover which does not endanger the piece's stability. Appeal is added with the inclusion of the original mailing envelope, which lists Red Barber as the name on the return address. The envelope itself is similarly strong.
