Description

Circa 1938 Babe Ruth Signed Baseball. An intriguing congregation of four Hall of Famers leads us to wonder what event might have given birth to this autographed International League ball. A bold and dark sweet spot signature from the Babe (8/10 due to some mild surface wear) rises just above a 9/10 autograph from Larry MacPhail, the man responsible for the Babe's coaching position with the Brooklyn Dodgers and our guess of 1938 as the approximate date listed in this auction title. On the panel above the Babe we find young fireballer Bob Feller, and finally the fourth Hall of Famer, Ace Parker, whose bronze plaque is located about five hundred miles west of the others' in Canton, Ohio. Former Eagles and Giants star Frank Reagan and an unidentifiable sixth signature round out the cast of characters. All but the mystery guest rates 8/10 or better. The ball itself is lightly and evenly toned to an attractive off-white shade. LOA from PSA/DNA. LOA from James Spence Authentication.
