Description
Ty Cobb Autographs Lot of 2. The Machiavellian ideal of our National Pastime, Cobb was feared and respected rather than loved. A full century after he first suited up in a Detroit Tigers uniform, we offer this intriguing lot comprised of a single signed baseball and an inscribed 8x10" action photograph. The baseball is a stamped "team signed" gift store model, with Cobb's trademark green ink rating a 6/10, considerably darker than the all but vanished facsimile signatures it joins. The photograph is inscribed, "To Ray, From His Friend Ty, 8/7/46" in 10/10 black ink. The photo has a vertical center crease that is only particularly apparent at certain angles to the light.
