Description
1923 V100 Willards Chocolate Complete Set (180) - #1 on the PSA Set Registry! It is always a pleasure when one doesn't know what part of a presentation is the most impressive. Offered is a 180-card complete set of V100 Willards Chocolate Co. baseball cards, only the second complete set that has ever been offered. If the opportunity to acquire one of the more obscure but comprehensive issues of the era fails you then the fact that almost 90% (89.9% to be precise) of the offered cards equals the highest grade recorded to date. Some "Pop 1-of-1 with none higher" highlights are baseball Hall of Famers Ty Cobb, Eppa Rixey, Frank Frisch, Tris Speaker, Miller Huggins, George Sisler, and Babe Ruth. The Ruth is a stunning NM-MT 8 beauty that is three grades higher than the second finest known - a pair of EX 5's. Their obscurity is confirmed as only 597 total '23 Willards have been submitted to PSA. The overall quality for a vintage set is simply remarkable. Over 70% of the cards hold the coveted "Pop 1-of-1 with none higher" status. Just under 54% grade NM or better. This presentation currently ranks as the #1 Set on the "All Time List" on the PSA Set Registry with a GPA of 6.47 (that's .03 away from the EX-MT+ level) with an improved upon assembly not foreseen any time in the foreseeable future. Includes: Graded - PSA NM-MT+ 8.5: 2 cards, J. Collins and Rixey; PSA NM-MT 8: 29 cards, Boeckel, Brazill, Cadore, Cruise, Duncan, Ehmke, Falk, Fohl, Gibson, Gleason, Griffith, Hasty, Holke, Hollocher, Hoyt, Jones, Kelly, Killefer, King, Moran, Parkinson, Rice, Ring, Ruth, Sallee, Tobin, Wilhelm, F.
