Description

1919 Honus Wagner Signed Check Display. While signed material of Honus Wagner from the 1940's and 1950's is in somewhat solid supply, locating early autographs of the Hall of Famer can be a difficult task. Here we offer what is easily one of the most beautiful checks we have ever seen. Appearing almost currency-like in appearance, it features "The Carnegie National Bank" in red ink, along with the bank's bald eagle logo to the left. "John H. Wagner" appears printed in large block letters on the top middle, and he has signed as "John H. Wagner" on the signature line in 8/10 fountain pen. The 1919 check was made out to "J.H. Clatty" for $20 and there are cancellation holes that impede the signature slightly. Still, a glorious early signed check from the baseball legend. Check is matted at 14x18". Full LOA from PSA/DNA.
