Description

1972-73 Conn Smythe Trophy Presented to Yvan Cournoyer. Known as "The Roadrunner" during his playing career due to his small size and blazing speed, which he credited to longer blades on his skates, Yvan Cournoyer's most notable postseason came in 1973 when he scored 15 goals and 10 assists in 17 playoff games. In a truly historic season for his Montreal Canadiens, Cournoyer led his squad to a Stanley Cup Finals victory over the Chicago Blackhawks in six games, and the Quebec native is also credit with scoring the all-important series-winning goal.

Offered here is the Conn Smythe Trophy that was presented to Cournoyer after being named the most valuable player after that year's postseason. Measuring at 17.5", it is accompanied with provenance from Cournoyer himself, while it exhibits minimal wear throughout. One of only a few Conn Smythe awards ever to hit the auction block, it will surely stand out as the center piece in any high-end hockey memorabilia collection. Letter of provenance from Yvan Cournoyer.
