Description
1929 Netherlands Olympics Committee Diploma. A "Diploma of Dexterity" for Dutch Olympic athlete "J. van Dormolen, born 9 September 1903." Certainly the certificate, issued "30 June 1929," relates to the recent 1928 Amsterdam Games, though we've been unable to determine in which event van Dormolen was a participant. The marvelous graphics are the story here though, with a great mixture of Greek and Dutch influences. The certificate measures 16x21" and presents very well, with just a touch of water staining at bottom right. Original frame exhibits minor damage at lower right and extends the dimensions to a final 18x24".Auction Info
