Description

1963-65 Jacques Plante Game Worn New York Rangers Goaltender's Pants. After legendary goaltender Jacques Plante and his Montreal Canadiens were eliminated in the first round of the playoffs for the team's third straight year in the spring of 1963, growing tension between him and coach Toe Blake began to escalate. As a result, for the 1963-64 season, Blake declared that either he or Plante must go. On June 4, 1963, Plante was traded to the New York Rangers. Here we present Plante's New York Rangers game-worn pants that he wore from 1963-65. From the collection of renowned hockey guru William A. Kulick, this fabulous pair was obtained from the Baltimore Clippers farm team, which was Plante's final team he played with before his first retirement. Pants are extraordinary, while presenting sparkling red fabric, with the proper white and blue piping presented throughout. The appropriate gold buttons are decorated on the exterior, with the proper "Cosby" and "[size] 42" tags located on the interior. Pants show great use, but still exhibit superb condition. A rarely seen, one-of-a-kind piece of hockey history. LOA from William A. Kulick.
