Description

1940's-50's Boston Red Sox Game Worn Warm-up Jacket. The days of Ted Williams, Dom DiMaggio and Johnny Pesky are vividly recalled with the sight of this navy wool letterman style jacket owned and worn by one of these legends' teammates on cold days at Fenway. While we cannot identify the specific player, it must be stressed that this jacket was team-issue only, and never available to the general public. A fantastic "red socks" chenille patch is sewn over the heart, and red, white and blue elasticized cuffing appears at collar, waist and sleeve ends. Fully operational snap-button front. "Tim McAuliffe [size] 48" tagging appears inside collar. Light wear is evident, but the jacket remains in splendid undamaged condition, without so much as fraying of the cuffs typically seen on jackets from this era. This is a piece that will function equally well in your trophy room or your personal wardrobe. LOA from Heritage Auctions.
