1994 San Francisco 49ers Super Bowl XXIX Championship Ring (Friend/Associate of Team Owner). In the same city where Broadway Joe had assumed the role as the face of the professional gridiron, future Hall of Fame quarterback Steve Young would claim that role on January 29, 1995, stepping out from beneath the immense shadow thrown by his predecessor Joe Montana to record one of the finest performances ever witnessed by a global football audience. Though the result was never in question, the 49ers beating the widest spread in Super Bowl history (18.5 points) with a 49-26 victory over the AFC Champion San Diego Chargers, the contest was nonetheless wildly entertaining, with its seventy-five combined points and ten touchdowns remaining records to this day.Presented is a ring identical in format to those earned that Sunday by MVP Steve Young and fellow future Hall of Famers Jerry Rice, Richard Dent and Deion Sanders, issued to Frederick Zeller, longtime business associate and personal friend of team owner Edward DeBartelo, Jr.
A sea of genuine diamonds coat the ring's face, spangling five miniature Lombardi Trophies to mark the first such achievement in NFL history. "1994 Forty Niners" forms a border to that glimmering focal point. Left shank provides the surname of the recipient 'above another quintet of Lombardi Trophies and text reading, "49ers, 16-3." Left shank features enameled logos of the team, the 75th NFL Anniversary and Super Bowl XXIX above the final score of the contest. Interior band is engraved "10 KT." Size is ten and a half (10.5), weight forty-seven grams (47 g.). Light wear evident. No box.
