Description

1951 Tom Gola-All American High School Award Signed by Chuck Taylor with Family Provenance. Nicknamed "Mr. All-Around" by Hall of Fame coach coach Ken Loeffler, Tom Gola was a Philadelphia folk hero. The prep phenom excelled at both ends of the court given his angular build. Gola eventually landed at LaSalle where he became the first modern four-time college All-American and the 1955 College Player of the Year. This certificate (8x5.25"/11.75x9.5" entirety) was issued to Gola on June 16, 1951. "Tom Gola - "Mr. Basketball"" is written on the player slot. Chuck Taylor, who gained national prominence for his brand of basketball sneakers made by Converse, also signed on. The certificate features a gold foil with red and blue ribbon seal on the lower left. A "North vs. South Basketball Classic" pinback is incorporated into the frame. Letter of provenance from Tom Gola Jr. Full LOA from PSA/DNA. Full LOA from Beckett Authentication Services.
