1984 Willie McCovey "Alabama Sports Hall of Fame" Induction Plaque & Ephemera Lot of 6 from The Willie McCovey Collection. A native of Mobile, Alabama, the same city which produced Hammerin' Henry Aaron, Willie McCovey never forgot where he came from and was a favorite son of the City of Mobile long after his retirement as an active player. Here is the plaque he received upon his induction into the Alabama Sports Hall of Fame. (Mac's Alabama Sports Hall of Fame ring is also being offered in this auction). Metal on wood is inscribed with "Alabama Sports Hall of Fame, Willie McCovey. Champions of history through their athletic exploits they achieved lasting fame for Alabama and for themselves." Measures 12x9" and weighs five pounds (5 lbs.).

The lot also includes a 1983 letter from the Braves congratulating Mac on his nomination, "Baseball In Mobile" book, and three different Alabama Spots Hall of Fame publications, including 1984, the year Mac was inducted. Letter of provenance from Willie McCovey's widow.
