1999 Roberto Clemente Career Ring - 59/200. Pittsburgh has enjoyed the talents of many Hall of Fame athletes over the years. The city of champions may never have one as worshiped as Roberto Clemente. The Great One was, and will always be, the city's signature star one who left the world far too soon. In 1999, the Clemente family signed off on a tribute ring which was to be limited to only 200. We are not certain if all were released but this is the first one which Heritage Auctions has had the pleasure of offering. This size 12.5 ring has 21 diamonds which forms "21" at the center and "1955 1972 Roberto Clemente" around the perimeter. "3000 Hits" is joined by the team's World Series triumphs on one side while the other mentions Clemente's twelve Gold Gloves and MVP. "LGB 10k" and "59/200" are engraved on the inner band. Weight is thirty-six grams (36g.). A Balfour box accompanies.Auction Info
