Description

1961 Fleer Wilt Chamberlain Rookie #8 PSA NM-MT 8. The 1961 Fleer Wilt Chamberlain rookie card (#8) is a cornerstone of vintage basketball card collecting, celebrating the debut of one of the most dominant players in the sport's history. Known for his record-breaking achievements, Chamberlain's RC is a symbol of his incredible impact on the game including his legendary career stats. Simply put, he was one of the most dominant centers in NBA history. On top of his record-setting 100-point game, which occurred on March 2, 1962, against the New York Knicks, "Wilt the Stilt" averaged 30.1 points and 22.9 rebounds per game. He won a pair of NBA titles (1967 with the Philadelphia 76ers and 1972 with the L.A. Lakers) and was named NBA Finals MVP in the latter series. A 13-time All-Star, the 7' 1" Chamberlain was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 1979.

The offered example of Wilt's coveted rookie card, which shows him sporting his Philadelphia jersey, is found in outstanding condition with little to no surface wear, good color, nice centering, clean white borders, four sharp corners and a flawless reverse. This is an eye appealing specimen of one of the hobby's most elusive and sought-after basketball issues. Graded PSA NM-MT 8.
