Description

1970-72 Willie Mays Game Used Bat, PSA/DNA GU 7. The Say Hey Kid passed forty years of age during the production range of the offered Hillerich & Bradsby S2 but he was still putting up solid numbers, leading the National League in walks and on-base percentage during his last full season with the Giants in 1971. He'd jump ship to the New York Mets early in the 1972 season, so we cannot be sure which side of the continent this battle-scarred gamer called home. Barrel is replete with ball marks, stitch impressions and grain checking, with some added weathering. Handle is uncracked. Length is thirty-five inches (35"), weight thirty-one ounces (31 oz.). There's a good chance that some of Mays last home runs of his outrageous career tally of 660 were delivered from this lumber. LOA from PSA/DNA, GU 7.
