Description

1933 Blue Bird Babe Ruth (Follow Through-Front) PSA NM-MT 8 - Pop Four, Two Superior It took sixty years for this very rare premium to be discovered in any quantity and still remains one the rarest Ruth collectibles to date. The portrait of Ruth is familiar, it is the same classic batting pose found on the R309 Goudey Premiums (cropped slightly differently) but with a "Blue Bird" advertising reverse, the small group discovered in 1994 was for all intents and purposes this ad's debut as previously only the Halper collection could claim to include one. The thin 3-7/8" x 5-7/8" card advertises Blue Bird soft drinks on the reverse and promotes a redemption offer to exchange bottle caps and some money for a Spalding Babe Ruth professional glove or a baseball. Graded PSA NM-MT 8. One of four graded NM-MT with two (both are 8.5s) rated higher from a total PSA pop of just twenty-nine. A well placed Ruth wielding his weapon of choice with relatively sharp corners and a great image.
