1990 Michael Jordan Game Worn & Signed "Red Team" Jersey from Magic Johnson's All Star Game with Apparent Photo Match. Hall of Fame talent was everywhere and defense took the evening off as the greatest stars of the NBA gathered to raise money for the United Negro College Fund at the Forum in Los Angeles in this fifth annual playing of the Magic Johnson All-Star Game. Though Johnson and Jordan teamed up in this charity benefit, with Jordan leading all scorers with thirty-eight points, the pair would find themselves on the losing end of a 167-162 final. But, of course, the only result that mattered was the dollars raised, allowing MJ the rare opportunity to play for the love of the sport rather than for his obsession with victory. Check the video from the game and you'll find no shortage of highlight-reel slams from His Airness and the rest of the hardcourt heroes.

While none of the video or photography from the August 5, 1990 contest is quite clear enough to make a definitive photo match, the experts at Sports Investors Authentication have located an "apparent photo match," and the provenance takes us the rest of the way home, as Jordan signed the jersey in 8/10 black sharpie on verso, "To Denny, My Very Best, Michael Jordan." The recipient was a family member of Michael Jordan's chef.

With his first NBA Championship ring already in production and the start of the season that would produce his second only weeks away, Jordan was at the peak of his powers when he donned this red mesh gamer with "Magic Johnson All-Star Game 23" screened in white to the chest, and "Jordan 23" likewise screened to verso.
