Description

The one and only Jordan/Kobe dual-signed Logoman that there will ever be!

2007-08 Upper Deck Exquisite Collection Dual Logoman Autographs Michael Jordan & Kobe Bryant #DL-KM Signed PSA EX-MT 6 - #'d 1/1. Do you hear that rumbling? It's the sound of the standing world record price for a basketball card getting ready to fall. For five years, the 2009-10 National Treasures Steph Curry Logoman Autograph card has enjoyed the view from the top of the heap, the $5.9 million private sale to an investment fund in July 2021 demonstrating the virtually unlimited elasticity of the market's upper edge.

We're proud and privileged here at Heritage for the opportunity to take the title back for the auction world, providing the manner of competition and high drama that private transactions lack, and which serves as a far more fitting tribute to the iconic subjects this remarkable trading card celebrates.

Any collector with the hobby sophistication and financial means to pursue ownership of this singularly unique and important cardboard commemorative will have no need for this primer, but we supply it for the education of more casual collectors who will certainly be dizzied by the rarefied air this offering inhabits. Beyond the aforementioned Steph Curry card, the hobby's highest peaks are populated by trading cards in the "league logo" theme. The current world record price for a Michael Jordan card is a Logoman ($2.93M, June 2024), as is Shohei Ohtani's ($1.03M, March 2025). Patrick Mahomes' record is his NFL shield card, as are Justin Herbert's and Joe Burrow's. Luka Doncic's is a Logoman. The list is long.

The "Dual NBA Logo Autographs" series from which this specimen derives ran from 2004 through 2009 and was produced in limited editions of one, although players often appeared in multiple different pairings. Jordan had eight such appearances--four with LeBron James, two with Julius Erving, one with Scottie Pippen, and this Kobe card. Kobe appeared on eleven, and we'll repeat that this is the only Jordan example.

If there had been any question of whether or not this Kobe/Jordan pairing was the most desirable of all cards from the series, the tragic helicopter crash in January 2020 eliminated them, slamming the door on any possibility of a theoretical future sequel. But this card does not rest upon its laurels of inimitability, providing far more than the bare minimum.

While the NBA logo sourced from a Kobe jersey is provided in its standard patriotic colorway, the golden logo beside it assures participation in the glorious 1996-97 season that saw Jordan claim the penultimate NBA Championship of his storied career. Framing these twin logos are blue felt tip signatures that remain as bold as the date of their application. The result is a dazzling showpiece with aesthetics worthy of the subject matter.

Michael Jordan's tearful eulogy for Kobe Bryant assured the gathered masses that he would never forget his "little brother," and this extraordinary offering will likewise do its small part in assuring that these two Mount Rushmore figures of the sport are forever linked in the public consciousness. It's one last chance for these elite World Champions and Hall of Famers to rise to the top together. Graded PSA EX-MT 6.
