Description

1909-11 T206 Polar Bear Bill O'Hara (St. Louis) PSA VG 3. Bill O'Hara made just 124 Major League appearances during his Major League career. Similar to Ray Demmitt, O'Hara played his 1909 season for the N.Y. Giants, but found himself with the St. Louis franchise for the 1910 season. We tip our hats to T206 producers for keeping up on the recent trades, but little did they know O'Hara would appear in a mere nine games for the Cardinals and would never play again in the majors after apparently becoming homesick for his native Toronto early in the 1910 season and abandoning the St. Louis Cardinals after only nine games. He joined the Toronto Maple Leafs of the Eastern League upon his return home, but he'd never again appear upon a trading card, his departure ending production within the T206 issue.

This card is only found with "Polar Bear" brand backs. A certified T206 scarcity from the series features the Canadian centerfielder. The same batting stance can be found with a common "New York" team caption but that is where the commonality ends. Our offered card displays the rare "St. Louis" National League variation. Graded PSA VG 3.
