Description

Possible Yaz & McCovey rookies!

1960 Topps Baseball (All Series) Cello Box with 36 Unopened Packs. It's a Major League Baseball season best remembered for the Mazeroski walk-off World Series blast that brought it to a dramatic conclusion, but somehow in the excitement this virgin cello box was lost and forgotten. Over six decades later, the nearly pristine relic reemerges to tease collectors with its "10¢ per pack" price tag, which has been affected just a bit by decades of inflation.

Steve Hart of Baseball Card Exchange has examined and sealed this colorful relic from the last year of the Eisenhower administration, providing a count of packs from four different series of the issue. We'll provide them below, with the key cards from each.

• Series 2 (eight packs): Possible Yastrzemski (RC) and Mantle/Boyer "Rival All-Stars."
• Series 3 (four packs): Possible Musial, Mays, Killebrew or Stengel.
• Series 4 (sixteen packs): Possible McCovey (RC), Aaron, Koufax, Clemente, or Mantle.
• Series 6 (eight packs): Possible Frank Robinson, Spahn, Drysdale, Snider, or Berra.

The box exhibits some wear and a few small splits at the edges, but falls well inside the range of expected and acceptable condition for such an ancient rarity. It's the first 1960 Topps Baseball cello box that Heritage has had the opportunity to offer since February 2017. Reviewed and sealed by Steve Hart/Baseball Card Exchange.
