Description

1969 Al Kaline Game Worn MLB 100th Anniversary Patches Lot of 2 from The Al Kaline Collection. During the 1969 season, every Major League team (except the Pirates) wore "100th Anniversary" patches on their uniforms to celebrate the MLB centennial. Al Kaline's son, Mark, was so enamored with patch's iconic design (which incidentally featured a likeness of Harmon Killebrew) that he asked his father if he could have the ones he wore on his home and road uniforms. Mark's wish was granted fifty-two years ago and those two exemplars are currently being offered here. Both present beautifully. Now, if we could just locate those two jerseys. Letter of provenance from Mark Kaline. LOA from Heritage Auctions.
