1988 World Series Los Angeles Dodgers vs. Oakland Athletics Game 1 Ticket Stub Signed By Kirk Gibson, PSA Authentic Auto 10. Kirk Gibson's performance in Game 1 of the 1988 World Series is one of the most iconic moments in baseball history. Battling severe injuries to both legs, Gibson was not expected to play, but he pinch-hit in the bottom of the 9th with two outs and the Dodgers trailing the Oakland A's 4-3. Facing dominant closer Dennis Eckersley, Gibson worked a full count and then hit a dramatic walk-off two-run home run, limping around the bases while pumping his fist in triumph. His improbable blast gave the Dodgers a 5-4 win and set the tone for their eventual championship, symbolizing grit and heroism in sports.Offered is a ticket stub used to view the historic occasion. Gibson signed the stub in blue Sharpie and inscribed the moment. Graded PSA Authentic Auto 10.
