Description

Signed 1967 Venezuela Topps Dave Concepción #89 PSA Good 2 (MK), PSA/DNA Auto 10. Dave Concepción was a Hall of Fame shortstop who became an important part of Cincinnati's "Big Red Machine" team that captured World Series championships in both 1975 and '76. A lifetime .267 hitter, Concepción's glove was one of the best in the Majors as he earned four straight Gold Glove awards from 1974 to 1977. Presented is his 1967 Venezuela Topps card that shows Concepción very early in his professional career. Card #89 from the '67 Venezuela Topps set captures Concepción crouching as if to field a ground ball with the word "ARAGUA" appearing on the bottom of the card front. In Spanish, Aragua refers to a geographical place like the Venezuelan state. This particular example is bolstered nicely by Concepción's prized autograph that adorns the front in bold blue marker. He added a "13" underneath his signature to acknowledge his uniform number throughout his playing career. Graded PSA Good 2 (MK) with a certified autograph graded PSA/DNA Auto 10.
