Description

1950-51 Charley Trippi Game Worn & Signed Chicago Cardinals Jersey, MEARS A9. As a rookie out of Georgia in college, Charley Trippi led Chicago's "Million Dollar Backfield" to victory over the Philadelphia Eagles in the 1947 NFL Championship Game. An esteemed member of the Pro Football Hall of Fame, and member of the league's 1940's All Decade squad, the superior "quintuple-threat" at quarterback, defensive back, punter and return specialist wore this museum-caliber red knit Chicago Cardinals jersey from 1950-51.

Exhibiting heavy wear with suitable aging on the tackle twill numerals, it is signed on the front in bold black sharpie, while the back is signed in faded vintage ink by the Pride of Pittston, Pennsylvania. In addition, its original crotch piece remains intact, while the proper "King Sportswear Company" and size 44 tagging remains. The only Charley Trippi gamer in the entire hobby, it will surely fill a much needed void in an advanced Hall of Fame jersey collector's memorabilia display. Letter of provenance from Charlie Trippi. Full LOA from PSA/DNA. LOA from MEARS, A9. LOA from Heritage Auctions.
