Description

1970 Lou Brock Game Used & Signed Bat, PSA/DNA GU 10. While he was always known for his ability to swipe a base, Lou Brock could also produce hits at an alarming level. During his career, Brock pounded out 3,023 hits on his way to the Hall of Fame. We are sure this Hillerich & Bradsby model C232 bat (35" and 34.4 ounces) accounted for at least a few of those knocks.

The uncracked stick shows excellent use characteristics with ball marks, black National League baseball stamp smudges and even checking on the back barrel. Heavy pine tar application is concentrated on the handle region. Red bat rack streaks are visible on all angles of the stick. "20" is written in vintage marker on the knob. Brock signed the barrel in black marker and inscribed: "To Hank Best Wishes Oct. 1, 1970." The signature/inscription has faded. We checked the box score and the Cardinals concluded the season Oct. 1 with a 9-5 loss to Pittsburgh. Serving as a pinch hitter, Brock finished with a hit in his only plate appearance. LOA from PSA/DNA, GU 10. Full LOA from PSA/DNA (autograph).
