Description

1933 Sport Kings Ty Cobb #1 PSA NM 7. He was a man used to being number one--the long-reigning Hit King, the still-reigning career leader for batting average, and first man enshrined at Cooperstown. And though the honor of inhabiting card number one of the most important multi-sport set of the Depression era is entirely deserved, the privilege came as both a blessing and a curse. First and last cards in any set have always been a challenge for the condition-conscious collector, as these bookends typically bore the brunt of environmental threats that were shielded for those cards on the interior. Graded PSA NM 7. Cobb directs his steely stare from a field of bright yellow, resting so close to perfection between the four borders and sharp corners. Surfaces are free of soiling and inks are still deep and saturated. One of nineteen graded NM with thirty-one higher.
