Description

Circa 1947 Clyde Sukeforth Game Worn Brooklyn Dodgers Cap. Unmistakable style is a fond reminder of Dem Bums, with "Spalding [size] 7 1/8" tagging inside leather headband. Interior crown bears a black marker "15," which corresponds to a black ink "Sukeforth 1947" written at interior headband. Sukeforth was a scout and coach who is important as the first Dodgers representative to contact Jackie Robinson on behalf of the team. Cap shows wear and age, but cardboard visor insert is uncracked, leaving the relic to present very well. LOA from Heritage Auctions.
