1981 Monte Irvin Alabama Sports Hall of Fame Ring from The Monte Irvin Collection. It always feels good to come home. Monte Irvin was raised in Haleburg, Alabama, where he first learned baseball. This size 11.5 ring (celestrium white metal) was issued to Irvin for making the 1981 Alabama Sports Hall of Fame. A synthetic ruby is centered on front and "Alabama Sports Hall of Fame" encircles the stone. "Inducted 1981" is raised on one shank while the opposite side has "Champions of History Through Their Athletic Exploits They Achieved Lasting Fame For Alabama and Themselves." "Monte Irvin" is visible inside. Weight twenty-one grams (21 g.). Letter of provenance from Monte Irvin's daughter.Auction Info
