Description

Circa 1987 Otis Birdsong Game Worn & Signed New Jersey Nets Sneakers. One of the best shooting guards in the NBA during the late 1970's and early 1980's, Otis Birdsong had the type of skill set which would allow him to flourish in any era. His mid-range game and high field goal percentage would have made him a desirable commodity in today's game. A four-time All-Star with a career scoring average of 18.0 points per game and a lifetime field goal percentage of .506, Birdsong averaged 24.6 dimes per in 1980-81 on .544 shooting.

Ranked as the 46th best sneaker of the 80's by Complex, the Adidas Attitude high-top exemplars on offer here date circa 1987 (see Getty Images 134298816 and 134298862 for the style match) and display white leather uppers with "Three Stripes" sewn on the sides in red leather and red trim on the toebox and ankle. The midsoles and outersoles are made of rubber which account for the lack of degradation and remarkable condition three decades later. While there is no indication of size, each shoe measures 13" in length and the Adidas tags are still present. What's more, each sneaker is signed on the side "Otis Birdsong #10" in vintage blue ballpoint. LOA from Heritage Auctions. Pre-certified by PSA/DNA.
