Description

1985 Lou Brock Baseball Hall of Fame Signed Bronze Induction Plaque, Personal Model. He stole his way into our hearts and the gates of Cooperstown with blazing foot speed that saw him lead the national league in base thefts eight times, retiring with both the single-season (118) and career (938) records in hand, each later surpassed by fellow enshrinee Rickey Henderson. When Brock was properly named to baseball's most esteemed brotherhood in 1985, he was presented with the standard-issue photographic version of his Hall of Fame plaque as a personal memento, but in 1995 the Hall created scaled-down (8.5x6.25") bronze plaques that were distributed retroactively to past honorees.

We sold Ted Williams' example of this format back in 2019 for $31,2000, but the market has moved quite a bit over the past three years so it will be exciting to see where this specimen from Brock ends up when bidding is complete. A copyright date at the bottom of the plaque suggests this one was presented on the ten-year anniversary of Brock's induction. Verso is boldly signed by the speedy redbird in black sharpie, complete with a "HOF 85" notation. Minimal handling/storage wear evident. Full LOA from Beckett Authentication Services.
